Kyparissia is the third largest city of Messinia, after the capital of the prefecture Kalamata and Messina. It is built amphitheatrically at the foot of Mount Aegaleo (also known as “cold”), and extends to the Ionian Sea. It is the capital and seat of the municipality Trifylias. It is located 255 km. West of Athens,

Besides the well – known Kyparissia Beach (Saint-bunny), with sand and pebbles, north of the city, you  will find a number of sandy beaches with organized and non areas, beach bars and canteens: the Sani, the tab, the Spout. In the small family resort of Kalo Nero, there is an information center for the Caretta caretta turtles that spawn in the area.

The visitor, who  will  visit  the Municipality of Kyparissia can admire many interesting places. Some of them are the Archaeological Site of Peristeria, considered one of the most important centers Early-Mycenean  culture, and the gorge next to the archaeological site. The Monastery of the Nativity Virgin Mary, known as Katsimikada in the region, is a hideaway surrounded by nature with views that will leave the visitor speechless. In the city of Kyparissia are the “Castle of the Giants” or “Castle of Arcadia”, the Folklore Museum, the tank at the highest point of the city where visitors can enjoy a wonderful view. Also worth a walk to the Upper City through the old , traditional streets. Worthy of admiration are the many churches of the municipality, other built in recent years and other built decades ago.
